When you think about everyday work places, most pull up information on their mobile devices; Phones, Laptops, iPads, etc. To make your ePortfolio more appealing, having accessibility is key. As I created my WIX, I chose to start from a template provided. Because of the template, it was easy to modify my desktop version to a mobile device. When pulling my mobile website up, everything looked great right away. I chose to add features like a customizable header that scrolls with the page instead of blocking information, a place for quick access buttons to float for assistance, and a button on the side of the page to allow the page to return to the top. The biggest format changes came from my resume section. At first glance, everything seemed shoved together instead of being set neatly in place. Everything ran together and didn’t show the categories. I positioned the dates all the same so they lined up. Every heading was resized correctly and centered. Each job description was centered. The spacing change allowed for a cleaner finish between each section and created division when needed.
These changes that were made for the mobile optimization will not only help the aesthetic of my WIX but also keep those that wish to view my WIX pulled in. Those that do not offer mobile accessibility automatically get tossed when someone can’t get access from wherever they are looking from.
